MissionCSA's mission is to equip, empower and inspire leaders and followers. If you want to lead others more successfully, you must learn to lead yourself effectively. You lead yourself by the choices you make, so choose wisely. You must choose in a every situation if you want to lead or if you prefer to follow. A 'leader' is someone with followers. We recognize that every leader is also a follower of someone or something. A leader/follower is only one component of leadership but each is essential. Leadership is more than a position and more than "the capacity or ability to lead." It is a process of influence involving a leader with followers in a particular situation toward a determined goal.
The situation usually determines the goal(s). Those two (situation and goal) should determine the leader and followers. Subordinates are decided by rank and position; followers are determined by themselves. Leaders and followers can be trained to be more effective in each role. Our emphasis is on Self-LEADERSHIP as we help people answer the questions "Who am I?", "Where am I?" "Why am I here?" "Where am I going?" and "What time is it?". We believe that one can lead others more effectively if s/he has keen self-awareness and self-control with skills in social awareness, and relationship management. For us, SELF is more than the individual so as to include relationships as well as memberships in work groups and teams. Perhaps the most important ability in self-leadership is based on contextual intelligence. We begin with an exercise to
help determine Leader/Follower Style. If you don't know your CSA
Leader/Follower Style, you are not ready to lead or follow effectively.
It is as important as knowing your personaility type, your birth order,
or your blood type. |
